SEN Teacher – SEND School
Location: Welwyn Garden City and surrounding areas
Are you a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher looking for a rewarding permanent opportunity within a specialist SEND setting?
We are working on behalf of a welcoming and supportive SEND school in Welwyn Garden City and the surrounding areas, who are looking to appoint an enthusiastic SEN Teacher to join their team on a permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about working with children and young people with special educational needs and wants to make a genuine difference to their learning, development and wellbeing.
The Role
As a SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs and abilities of pupils within the school.
Working closely with Teaching Assistants and the wider staff team, you will create a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment where every pupil is encouraged to achieve their potential.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging and differentiated lessons
- Adapting teaching approaches and resources to meet individual learning needs
- Creating a positive, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment
- Monitoring, assessing and recording pupil progress
- Setting appropriate learning and development targets
- Working closely with Teaching Assistants and other members of the school team
- Building positive relationships with pupils and supporting their emotional wellbeing
- Managing behaviour positively and effectively
- Working in partnership with parents, carers and other professionals where appropriate
- Contributing to the wider life of the school
About You
The school is looking for a SEN Teacher who is:
- Passionate about supporting children and young people with SEND
- A qualified teacher or holds relevant teaching experience
- Patient, nurturing and empathetic
- Creative and able to adapt teaching to meet individual needs
- Confident managing behaviour in a positive and consistent way
- Able to build strong relationships with pupils, colleagues and families
- Organised and committed to providing high-quality teaching
- Keen to develop their SEND knowledge and experience
Previous experience working within a SEND setting would be highly beneficial. The school is particularly interested in hearing from teachers who are passionate about helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and achieve their individual potential.
