Ysgol Bryn Tabor Teaching Assistant Apprentice
Ysgol Bryn Tabor in Wrexham is looking for a Teaching Assistant to join their team.
They are looking for a hardworking, enthusiastic and committed individual who is willing to work with children within the Foundation Phase.
As a Teaching Assistant, you would support teachers and help children with their educational and social development, both inside and outside the classroom.
Duties
- Supporting learners with their Welsh language and literacy skills
- Supporting pupils with additional learning needs (ALN)
- Supporting pupils with their numeracy, literacy and ICT skills
- Supporting learners across the various areas of the classroom
- Understanding safeguarding and behaviour policies and your role within these policies
- Promoting Welsh culture
- Working with children aged 3-6 within the Foundation Phase
- Supporting the teacher in various classroom roles
- The ability to conduct yourself professionally at all times when working in schools
Essential Criteria
- Must be fluent in Welsh
- A desire to learn more about becoming a Teaching Assistant
- Enthusiasm for working with children
- Possess relevant qualities, including patience and good communication skills
- The ability to demonstrate professionalism at all times
- The ability to listen to and learn from more experienced staff
Desirable Criteria
- Previous experience of working with children
- Any previous experience working with children with special educational needs
- Strong Welsh, English and Mathematics skills
- Communication skills relevant to working with children and adults
- Competent numeracy, literacy and ICT skills
- The ability to self-manage and organise your own time

The apprenticeship includes both on-the-job learning and off-the-job training, leading to nationally recognised qualifications.
Minimum A-C GCSE (or equivalent) in Welsh, English and Maths.*
