We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Project Manager to lead and develop key operational and strategic services across Health & Safety, Emergency Planning, and Home to School Transport and Catering within Education Services. This is a pivotal role within the Property and Site Management team, responsible for ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient service delivery across schools and education sites. You will work closely with senior leaders, headteachers, governors, and external partners to drive continuous improvement and ensure statutory responsibilities are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the management and development of Health & Safety arrangements across Education Services ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and best practice.
  • Oversee Emergency Planning and contribute to critical incident and service continuity arrangements.
  • Monitor and evaluate contractor performance, ensuring services are delivered effectively and represent value for money.
  • Lead on Health & Safety audits, inspections, and reporting across schools and education sites.
  • Develop and deliver training programmes to staff, governors, and stakeholders on Health & Safety and related areas.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with internal departments and external partners, representing the service at local and national forums where required.
  • Contribute to the strategic development of the Property and Site Management service and support wider programme delivery.

About You

  • Proven experience in project management, ideally within the public sector, Estates or Health & Safety.
  • A recognised qualification in IOSH / NEBOSH and at least 2 years' experience in Health & Safety Management.
  • Strong financial and commercial awareness, including budget monitoring and reporting.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple organisations.
  • The ability to analyse complex information and produce clear, practical recommendations.
  • High-level communication and presentation skills.
