Come and join our team
Required as soon as possible, we are seeking a highly motivated, reliable and enthusiastic Cover Officer to join our thriving school community and support teaching and learning across the school.
The successful candidate will be confident working with young people and committed to ensuring that pupils continue to experience high-quality, purposeful learning in the absence of their usual classroom teacher. You will have excellent communication and classroom management skills, a positive and patient approach, and the ability to motivate, encourage and challenge our learners.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will work closely with teaching staff and colleagues across the school to deliver planned learning activities, maintain a positive and purposeful classroom environment, and support pupils to remain focused and engaged with their learning. You will be expected to establish positive relationships with pupils and promote our high expectations of behaviour, achievement and personal development.
The role will provide an opportunity to work across a range of subjects and year groups. We are looking for an individual who is adaptable, organised and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Previous experience of working with young people in an educational setting would be advantageous.
Carmarthen, a vibrant market town nestled on the edge of the picturesque Towy Valley, is home to a pioneering comprehensive school that embodies the spirit of 'Caring, Learning, Leading'. Our school is committed to nurturing a supportive environment where pupils can thrive both academically and personally. By fostering a culture of care, continuous learning and positive leadership, we aim to provide our pupils with the knowledge, skills and experiences they need for a successful future.
If you are enthusiastic about supporting young people and are eager to make a positive contribution to our school community, we would be delighted to hear from you.
For further information about the role, or if you would like to arrange a visit to the school, please contact Nigel Cooke, School Business Manager, at nigel.cooke@qehs.carms.sch.uk.
