Cardiff and Vale College is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Personal Effectiveness Coach to join our Learner Journey team.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support learners in overcoming barriers to engagement, participation and achievement. Working closely with curriculum teams and student support services, you will provide targeted interventions and coaching to help learners remain engaged in their studies, develop positive behaviours and achieve successful outcomes.
Using a learner-centred, solution-focused approach, you will work directly with learners requiring additional support, helping them to identify challenges, develop strategies for success and build confidence in their ability to progress and achieve their goals.
What You'll Do
- You will work directly with learners delivering individual and targeted interventions designed to improve engagement, attendance, behaviour, retention and progression.
- The role involves providing coaching and mentoring support, facilitating restorative conversations, developing action plans, liaising with curriculum and support teams, and maintaining accurate learner records. You will work collaboratively with colleagues across the College and external agencies where appropriate to ensure learners receive the support they need to succeed.
- You will also contribute to the College's commitment to creating a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment where every learner has the opportunity to achieve their full potential.
About You
We are looking for a positive, resilient and compassionate individual who is passionate about supporting learners to overcome challenges and achieve success.
You will have experience of working with young people or vulnerable learners and be able to build effective professional relationships, communicate confidently and work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
