Cardiff and Vale College is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and learner-focused Counselling Tutor/Lecturer to join our Health and Care team.

This is an exciting opportunity to deliver high-quality teaching and learning to counselling learners across a range of programmes. You will play a key role in supporting learners to achieve their academic goals, develop professionally and progress successfully into further study or employment. The role includes teaching, assessment, tutorial support and curriculum development, alongside contributing to the wider success of the department.

What You'll Do

You will plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons, assess learner progress and provide constructive feedback to support achievement. You will also undertake tutorial responsibilities, identify and support learner needs, maintain accurate records and contribute to course evaluation and curriculum development activities.

Working collaboratively with colleagues and external partners, you will help ensure an outstanding learner experience while supporting departmental and College objectives. The role may involve teaching across College sites and community-based locations, including some evening provision.

About You

You will hold a relevant Degree or HND and a recognised teaching qualification such as a PGCE. You will have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and be committed to supporting learner achievement and wellbeing.

We are looking for an innovative, enthusiastic and adaptable individual with teaching experience and the ability to engage learners across a range of levels. You will be a strong team player who can work effectively in a busy environment while maintaining a learner-centred approach. Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and a commitment to continuous professional development are essential.
