Cardiff and Vale College is looking for a passionate and proactive ESOL Engagement Officer to support learners studying English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).
This is a rewarding opportunity to help learners overcome barriers to education, build confidence and achieve their goals. Working across College campuses and within the community, you will play a key role in improving learner engagement, attendance and wellbeing.
What You'll Do
- Support learners who may be at risk of disengaging from their studies.
- Build positive relationships with learners, staff and external partners.
- Deliver targeted interventions to improve attendance and retention.
- Promote learner wellbeing and access to support services.
- Organise activities that encourage engagement, confidence and success.
About You
- Experience supporting learners or individuals whose first language is not English.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- A proactive and organised approach to supporting others.
- An understanding of the challenges that can impact learner engagement and wellbeing.
- A passion for helping people achieve their potential.
Additional Information
This position is offered on a fixed-term basis in line with the current funding arrangements for the programme. Ending in 2nd July 2027.
