Abernant Primary School is a warm and welcoming school situated in the heart of Aberdare. We currently have 112 pupils on roll aged between 3 and 11.

The Governing Body is seeking to appoint a Class Teacher and Leader of Learning to work with our SLT and staff team for the autumn and spring terms. We are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate and committed Leader who is well-organised, caring and will go the extra mile to support pupils, parents and staff.
The successful candidate will:-
- Lead teaching and Learning within the school – planning strategically for ALL pupils\’ wellbeing and standards
- Promote and develop inclusive, high quality learning and teaching throughout the school
- Perform a key role on the SLT, reporting to them and the governors on progress and standards across the school of teaching and learning
- Have shared accountability for the performance of all staff relating to and including the performance of all pupils across the school including vulnerable/ALN learners
- Ensure that the identified learning needs of all pupils are provided for in the classroom
- Develop and co-ordinate targeted programmes of support for those pupils who need it
- Demonstrate their own excellent classroom practice and commitment to high standards and expectations for all learners
- Create an engaging learning environment
- Be able to work as part of a successful team and manage other adults within the classroom
- Be committed to raising standards
- Have high expectations of themselves and of children
- Be an excellent communicator
