The John Frost School has a long-standing reputation for being a supportive and caring environment, with significant recent developments leading to excellent student results.

We are seeking an individual to join our team of Teaching Assistants supporting students with special educational needs at The John Frost School. This is a term-time post (38 weeks), working from 8.30am to 3.30pm.

The main aim of this role is to support teachers in delivering academic excellence, involving:

  • Assisting students with their educational and social development
  • Providing support for individual students to enable full participation in activities
  • Assisting teachers with maintaining student records
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with students, treating them with respect and consideration
  • Having high expectations to ensure students make academic and personal progress
  • Encouraging and promoting positive behaviour

The role requires a level of education equivalent to GCSE English and Mathematics. The successful candidate will also carry out administrative and record-keeping duties. Knowledge of students with statements of special educational needs and autism is desirable.
