The Ethnic Minority and Traveller Achievement Service is looking for an experienced, dynamic and resourceful, teacher to join the team.
The teacher will work under the direct instruction of Closing the Gap Officers to support access to learning for pupils and to improve engagement, achievement and attendance for identified vulnerable groups.
What We Are Looking For From You
We are seeking an experienced teacher to establish good relationships with pupils, acting as a role model, and being aware of, and responding appropriately to, individual needs. You will be able to work well as part of a team within a school or bespoke setting. You\’ll have recent experience of teaching and learning and be able to provide appropriate learning opportunities.
You\’ll have the enthusiasm and skills to encourage pupils to interact and work cooperatively with others and engage all pupils in activities. This could be within a school or vocational setting, or with learners that are reluctant to access and engage with mainstream provision.
You will have experience of assessing, monitoring and evaluating progress of learners that have English/Welsh as an additional language, Minority Ethnic learners and Gypsy Traveller learners.
You will have experience of leading on, or contributing to, whole school initiatives that promote diversity and inclusion.

This post is temporary until 31st March 2026. Funding is reviewed annually and it is anticipated (but not guaranteed) that your contract will be renewed upon confirmation that the funding has been approved.
