The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.
As a teaching assistant you will support teachers and help children with their educational and social development, both in and out of the classroom. You will work with children aged 4 to 11 years across the primary curriculum.
Responsibilities
- Support learners with their language and literacy skills.
- Support pupils with additional learning needs (ALN).
- Support pupils with their numeracy, literacy and ICT skills.
- Assist in varying classroom activities and support children in the various areas within the class.
- Understand the safeguarding and behaviour policy and apply these within the classroom.
- Promote Welsh culture and language where appropriate.
- Work alongside teachers in various classroom roles.
- Conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times within the school environment.
Job Requirements
- Previous experience working with children (desirable).
- Experience with special educational needs (SEN) is desirable.
- Strong communication skills with both children and adults.
- Competent numeracy, literacy and ICT skills.
- Ability to self‑manage and organise own time effectively.
- Reliable, professional attitude and smart appearance.
- Desire to be a positive role model for young people.
Training and Development
- On‑job training gaining practical experience within a school setting.
- Off‑job training covering safeguarding, behaviour management, child development and learning strategies.
- Regular assessments and feedback to track progress and improve skills.
- Additional learning support, particularly in literacy, numeracy and communication.
