Educators First is recruiting on behalf of a highly regarded specialist school supporting children and young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and complex additional learning needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to work alongside experienced teachers, therapists and support staff, helping pupils develop communication, independence, emotional regulation and confidence in a structured, nurturing environment. The pupils may present with autism, sensory processing differences, communication needs, anxiety, social interaction difficulties and behaviours linked to unmet needs. Success in this role comes from patience, consistency, empathy and a genuine commitment to supporting every child to achieve their potential.

  • Experience supporting children or young people with autism, ALN, SEN, care or support work
  • A calm, resilient and positive approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • The ability to build trusting relationships with pupils
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to individual needs

The role includes:

  • 1:1 and small-group support
  • Supporting learning, communication and social development
  • Working closely with teachers and wider professionals
  • Promoting independence and engagement
  • Following individual support plans and safeguarding procedures
