We are seeking an experienced and committed Senior SEN Teaching Assistant to join a nurturing and specialist SEN school, supporting pupils within Early Years and Key Stage 1. All pupils have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and present with a range of complex additional needs. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

As a Senior SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, personalised support to young learners. Working closely with class teachers, therapists, and senior leaders, you will help create a safe, structured, and positive learning environment that supports each child's individual development.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with complex needs
  • Supporting the delivery and review of EHCP targets and behaviour support plans
  • Assisting with communication, emotional regulation, and sensory needs
  • Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver personalised learning
  • Acting as a senior member of the support staff team, offering guidance and support to colleagues where required
  • Helping to maintain a calm, inclusive, and structured classroom environment
