We are delighted to be recruiting a committed and resilient SEN Teacher to join a specialist SEMH provision in Rochdale. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity with a clear route to a permanent position following a successful initial 12-week period.
The provision supports pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs, often alongside additional learning or behavioural challenges. The school is looking for a teacher who can offer consistency, structure and high-quality teaching while building strong, trusting relationships in a calm and nurturing environment.
The Role
- Deliver engaging, well-differentiated lessons tailored to pupils with SEMH needs
- Create a calm, structured and predictable classroom environment
- Implement positive behaviour strategies and trauma-informed approaches
- Work collaboratively with support staff, senior leaders and external professionals
- Support pupils' emotional regulation, confidence and engagement with learning
- Contribute to EHCP targets, progress reviews and reporting
The Ideal Candidate
- Holds QTS, QTLS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Has experience working with pupils with SEMH, behavioural needs or in alternative provision
- Is confident managing challenging behaviour using positive and consistent approaches
- Brings a calm, patient and resilient mindset
- Is committed to safeguarding and inclusive practice
- Holds an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (essential)
