We are currently seeking a Front-end Web Developer to join our growing team. You will play a key role in developing and maintaining high-quality web experiences across our platforms, used by millions of students worldwide. Working closely with designers, developers, and stakeholders, you'll help shape the front-end of our websites ensuring they’re accessible, responsive, and user-focused.

Responsibilities

  • Write clean, reusable, and well-documented JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and SCSS code.
  • Turn UI/UX designs into responsive, interactive, and accessible web experiences.
  • Optimise website performance and speed, with a focus on Core Web Vitals.
  • Develop and maintain user-friendly features across both public-facing sites and internal systems.
  • Contribute to design system consistency through reusable components and best practices.
  • Collaborate within an agile team, participating in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Work closely with designers, developers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality web features.

Skills Required

  • Strong understanding of HTML, CSS/SCSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
  • Experience working with responsive frameworks such as Bootstrap.
  • Comfortable working with modern front-end JavaScript frameworks.
  • Knowledge of CSS pre-processors.
  • Experience with cross-browser testing and front-end debugging.
  • Proven track record (3+ years) in a front-end development role.
  • Ability to translate UI/UX designs into functioning, user-centric interfaces.
  • Understanding of accessibility principles and standards (e.g., WCAG 2.1).

Nice to Have

  • Experience with React or other front-end frameworks (e.g., Vue.js, Svelte).
  • Experience working with component libraries or design systems.
  • Familiarity with UX/design tools (e.g. Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, Photoshop).
  • Experience using Jira for task tracking and sprint planning.
  • Understanding of version control and branching strategies.
  • Knowledge of SEO and how front-end code impacts search visibility.
