Veritas Education is currently recruiting on behalf of a friendly and inclusive primary school in Lancaster seeking a committed and enthusiastic Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated TA who enjoys supporting pupils across KS2 and has strong knowledge of both Mathematics and English. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers to help pupils achieve their full potential and develop confidence in their learning.
The Role
As a KS2 Teaching Assistant, you will provide classroom support across Key Stage 2, working with individuals, small groups, and whole-class activities. You will play an important role in helping pupils develop their literacy and numeracy skills while promoting positive engagement and behaviour.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting teaching and learning across Key Stage 2
- Delivering targeted interventions in Maths and English
- Working with small groups and individual pupils to raise attainment
- Assisting with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
- Encouraging pupil participation, confidence and independence
- Supporting pupils with varying learning needs
- Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds a recognised Teaching Assistant qualification or has relevant school-based experience
- Has good knowledge of the KS2 curriculum, particularly Maths and English
- Can confidently support pupils with literacy and numeracy activities
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Is proactive, reliable and adaptable
- Is passionate about helping children succeed and enjoy learning
