ESU 7 is seeking a full-time Licensed Mental Health Practitioner for the 2024–2025 school year. Current LMHP licensure/certification or the equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

  • Providing services related to the delivery of mental health care to assigned students at the designated school location and providing consultation services to school staff to support overall mental health goals.
  • Delivering direct mental health services including intake assessment, individual/group therapy, and crisis interventions to assigned students.
  • Assisting school counselors with coordinating interventions with students, acting as an intervention specialist.
  • Maintaining regular contact with the parent/guardian of each client.
  • Providing follow-up and assisting in implementation of reintegration plans for students returning to school from hospitalization or facility stays.
  • Furnishing required reports to NDHHS, the legal system and other involved agencies as appropriate.
  • Participating in meetings as necessary (staffing, trainings, IEPs, community forums, etc.).
  • Providing consultation to school staff regarding mental health issues, including classroom observation and appropriate service determination.
  • Enhancing the awareness of mental health needs, services, and promoting community understanding of mental health and enhancing community response to mental health problems.
  • Providing appropriate in-service training to school staff.
  • Developing support groups for students as needed.
  • Participating in the collection of mental health information and student outcomes data to monitor the overall performance and effectiveness of services provided and support program development.
  • Providing complete and timely documentation to support services rendered.
  • Being familiar with disciplinary guidelines and student code of conduct in each district served.
  • Understanding special education regulatory requirements and assisting with processes as appropriate.
  • Fostering effective communication with students, parents and other staff members.
  • Utilizing technology effectively.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of information concerning staff, students, and parents within all districts served.
  • Adhering to all ESU 7 policies, rules, regulations, and supervisory directives.
  • Other duties as assigned.
