Administrative Assistant Education & Equality Grade C
Salary £29,856 – £36,372
The EIS is Scotland’s largest and most influential trade union and professional association for teachers and lecturers, with almost 65,000 members working in all education sectors and at all career levels. With such a large and diverse membership, and as an organisation that is strongly active across many areas of Scottish Education, we rely on high quality administrative support.
We are currently seeking a full time Administrative Assistant to join our busy Education & Equality Department.
The successful candidate will be responsible for administrative work relating to the national Education Committee and its sub-committees, and certain national Networks. They will also provide assistance to the Professional Learning Co-ordinators in relation to the administration of professional learning events and activities for EIS members, and will have responsibility for maintaining relevant areas of the EIS website.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a high standard of communication skills, commitment to team working, close attention to detail, and expertise in using Microsoft Office.
This is a full-time position, based in the EIS HQ in central Edinburgh. However, the Institute has a Flexible Working Patterns policy, offering all members of staff a high degree of flexibility over the location at which work is carried out, subject to the overall requirements of the EIS and its members.
Benefits include a final salary superannuation scheme and 23 days’ (rising to 32) annual leave plus 14 days’ public holidays.
