As the Amazon Manager, you’ll partner with the Head of Amazon to translate strategy into action, develop a team of high‑performing Growth Leads, delivering profitable and sustainable growth across nine Amazon marketplaces. Learning Resources runs a Pan‑EU Amazon Vendor (1P) business across the UK and Europe. Growth is delivered through a coordinated, cross‑functional team, with Growth Leads owning market delivery and partnering closely with Advertising, Operations, Marketing, wider business teams, and US‑based counterparts. The role combines strategic planning, creativity, people leadership, and strong Amazon fundamentals. You’ll need sound judgement, disciplined prioritisation, and the ability to switch between setting direction and day‑to‑day problem solving. You’ll also deputise for the Head of Amazon as needed, be it to lead the team, step in or join a negotiation - acting as a trusted partner who helps drive alignment and momentum.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of three Growth Leads, holding them accountable for results while actively supporting their development.
- Create clarity around priorities, decisions, and expectations across markets, ensuring consistent ways of working.
- Motivate and engage the team through strong communication, clear direction, and pragmatic problem‑solving.
- Work closely with the Head of Amazon to translate vision, strategy, and OKRs into practical, executable plans.
- Ensure content optimisations, new product launches and promotions are delivered to a consistently high standard across all countries.
- Build strong internal and external relationships, including day‑to‑day ownership of the AVS relationship and regular engagement with Amazon stakeholders.
- Balance short‑term performance with longer‑term growth, knowing when to push for results, pause if something isn’t working, or change direction.
Commercial & analytical ownership:
- Set the standard of excellence as a Growth team focussing on results not effort, using a combination of data & sound judgement to inform decisions.
- Maintain a clear view of the competitor and market landscape, and ensure insights are shared and actioned across the team.
- Lead regular account performance reviews that focus on insights, actions, and outcomes.
- Work closely with Advertising to align performance marketing priorities, measurement, and expected outcomes.
- Own the Power BI reporting suite for the Amazon team (build, maintain, and improve core dashboards).
- Oversee Salsify workflows for Amazon content (attribute setup, data quality, and syndication).
What we are looking for (Key Performance Objectives):
- Within the first 3-6 months, review the end-to-end process for new product launches and promotions and agree joint ways‑of‑working/RACI with Marketing (roles, timelines, inputs). Implement at least 3 agreed process improvements and deliver a shared campaign calendar.
- Within the first 6-12 months, establish trusted working relationships with key stakeholders (Head of Amazon, Growth Leads, Advertising, Ops, Marketing, LRUS counterparts and AVS team).
- Within first 6-9 months, increase Growth Lead capacity for value‑adding work by at least 25%, by removing/automating low‑value admin and clarifying ownership across recurring tasks.
- Within the first 6-12 months, take ownership of the core Power BI dashboards for the Amazon team (refresh cadence, definitions, and basic enhancements); where needed, complete the agreed Power BI training within the same period.
About you:
- Experienced Amazon Vendor (1P) leader, with a deep, practical understanding of how Amazon really works.
- Motivated by results and accountability.
- Thinks logically and commercially, with strong common‑sense judgement.
- Enjoys leading people and bringing others with them.
- Builds trust easily, communicates clearly, and connects well with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Has a genuine interest in the Amazon ecosystem.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 (especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams); Power BI experience is a plus.
