Our client is currently looking for a CNC Laser Assistant. The primary responsibility of this role is to assist the lead operator in setting and operating a Bystronic laser machine.
General Job Description: The main responsibility is to assist in running the machine efficiently, working as part of a small team in a lean production environment. They will be responsible for hitting strict daily schedules.
Job Specification:
- Assisting with the setting/operating of machines
- Using hand tools such as grinders and deburring tools
- Understanding engineering drawings
- Carrying out quality checks on products
- Ensuring all jobs are batched, marked up and allocated to the correct places
- Pulling jobs together and packaging ready for delivery
- Offloading deliveries and ensuring they are identified, stored and marked-up appropriately
- Ensuring paperwork is filled in correctly and filed in the general office
- Learning the basics of laser operations and assisting with running and maintenance
- Driving the company van to make deliveries during busy periods
Person Specifications:
- Previous experience in an engineering role would be advantageous
- Able to read and understand engineering drawings and production cards
- Driving licence for using company van
Hours of Operation (2 week rotation):
- 06:00 - 14:00 Monday to Friday
- 16:00 - 02:00 Monday to Friday
This is a temporary to permanent role for the right person.
