Early Years Teaching Assistant , you will work closely with the class teacher and wider Early Years team to provide high‑quality support for children within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), helping them develop the essential skills needed for future learning through engaging, play‑based experiences.

Key Responsibilities
- Support teaching and learning by working with individual children and small groups within the Early Years setting.
- Assist in delivering engaging, play‑based learning activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
- Support children's communication, language, physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment where every child can thrive.
- Observe, assess, and record children's progress, contributing to planning and next steps.
- Encourage children's independence, confidence, and positive behaviour through high‑quality interactions.
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher, Early Years team, and parents to support children's learning and development.
- Prepare learning resources and assist with the organisation of the classroom environment.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures and school policies are followed at all times.
Essential Criteria
- A relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification – essential.
- Previous experience working within an Early Years or primary school setting.
- A sound understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach to supporting young children.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Preferred Criteria
- Experience supporting children within a Reception or Nursery class.
- Knowledge of child development and effective observation and assessment practices.
- Experience delivering targeted interventions and supporting early literacy and numeracy.
- Paediatric First Aid qualification.
