Are you looking for a rewarding role where you can give invaluable aid and support to students with additional needs to help navigate their usual school day?
Education World are looking for SEND support staff across Newton Aycliffe on both short term and long term basis to work within an SEN School. from September 2025. As part of an SEND support team you will work directly with children with additional needs creating a supportive atmosphere for them to develop and grow effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with students 1:1 as well as in small groups.
- Support students to overcome any barriers to learning.
- Help students understand instructions/work under supervision of the class teacher.
- Collaborate with the SENDCo to ensure each student is having their needs met in line with Education Health Care plans (EHC) and/or Individual Learning plans (ILP).
- Managing challenging pupil behaviour at times.
Qualifications And Experience
- Relevant experience working with additional needs (could be lived in experience).
- Proven ability to be resourceful when needed.
- A true commitment to student development.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Adherence to safeguarding policies and procedures.
This position will start as a temporary ongoing role but has the possibility of becoming permanent for the right person.
