Nursery Nurse – Level 3 Teaching Assistant

Level 3 or experienced Nursery Practitioner

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the staff team at a wonderful ‘home from home’ nursery in the heart of Sheffield. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Practitioner to join the team.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong Knowledge of the EYFS and Safeguarding. The role involves working with children from 6 months – 5 years, following the nursery ethos, maintaining Ofsted standards and requirements and ensuring that high standards of care, education, and safety are maintained.

Purpose of Post:

·To provide a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for children placed in the setting.

·To give support to their staff within the setting.

·To work as part of a team to provide an enabling environment in which all individual children can play, develop and learn.

·To build and maintain strong partnership working with parents to enable children’s needs to be met.

·To have a strong knowledge of EYFS requirements.

Key Skills:

·Communication Skill– Good interpersonal skills to deal with parents, outside agencies etc

·Knowledge of the EYFS –understanding of the framework guidelines

·Team player –willing to take on the views of others and sharing ideas and jobs

Personal Qualities:

• Passion for working with children– A genuine interest in child development and early years education
• Ambition– to have the motivation to learn more and strive to gain more knowledge
• Patience, empathy, and flexibility– working with young children can be challenging, these traits are highly valued
• Resilience– Ability to handle the pressures and demands of a nursery environment
• Confidence– Ability to handle any difficult conversations or conflict within the setting

Experience:

·Experience in early years – experience working in a childcare setting or early years setting

Qualifications:

·Level 3 qualification in chilcare – (equivalent or higher)

Other requirements:

·Enhanced DBS check– for working with children on the update service.
