SEN / SEMH Tutor β 1:1 Alternative Education

Are you a passionate and resilient educator looking to make a genuine difference outside of the mainstream classroom?
Education World is working in partnership with local authorities and alternative provisions to recruitdedicated tutorsto support young people withSpecial Educational Needs (SEN)andSocial, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)needs in1:1 settings.
These roles involve working with students who are currentlyout of mainstream education, providing tailored academic and pastoral support to help re-engage them with learning.
The Role
As a tutor, you will:
- Deliver1:1 personalised sessionsin a home or community setting - reliable travel required
- Support students withSEN and/or SEMH needs, adapting your approach accordingly
- Plan and deliverengaging, differentiated lessonsto meet individual learning needs
- Buildpositive, trusting relationshipsto support emotional regulation and engagement
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to support ongoing development - both weekly and termly
- Work collaboratively with families, schools, and external professionals
What Weβre Looking For
- Experience working withSEN, SEMH, or vulnerable learners
- A calm, patient, and adaptable approach
- Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule
- A genuine passion for supporting young people who need an alternative approach to education
Pay Rates
- Β£25 per hourβ Tutors with relevant experience
- Β£30 per hourβ Qualified Teachers (QTS)
