As a
Level 3 Early Years Teaching Assistant , you will work closely with the class teacher and wider Early Years team to support children's learning through engaging, play‑based experiences in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
You will help create a stimulating and caring environment where every child can thrive.
- This is a full‑time position commencing in
- September 2026 and continuing until
December 2026 .
Key Responsibilities
- Support teaching and learning by working with individual children and small groups within the Early Years setting.
- Assist in delivering engaging, play‑based learning activities in line with the EYFS framework.
- Support children's communication, language, literacy, numeracy, and personal, social, and emotional development.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment where children can flourish.
- Observe, assess, and record children's progress, contributing to planning and next steps.
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher and wider Early Years team to support daily routines and learning activities.
- Encourage children to develop independence, confidence, and positive behaviour.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, carers, and colleagues.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures and school policies are followed at all times.
Essential Criteria
A recognised Level 3 Early Years qualification – essential.
- Experience working within an Early Years setting.
- A strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach to supporting young children.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Preferred Criteria
- Previous experience supporting children within a primary school Reception class.
- Experience contributing to observations, assessments, and learning journals.
- Knowledge of phonics and early language development.
- Paediatric First Aid qualification.
- A passion for delivering high‑quality Early Years education.
