Education World are recruiting for dedicated and experienced SEMH Teaching Assistants to join a secondary alternative behaviour provision in Newcastle. The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs and be confident in challenging situations.
Role Responsibilities
- Support students with SEMH needs in their learning and personal development
- Assist in the implementation of behaviour management strategies
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff to create a positive learning environment
- Provide one-to-one and small group support as needed
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of educational activities
- Maintain accurate records and assist with administrative tasks
Key Requirements
- Experience working with young people and managing challenging behaviour
- Previous experience in a school setting setting goals and boundaries
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to diffuse challenging situations
