We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Geography Teacher to join a successful and welcoming secondary school in Tooting from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to inspire students to develop a deeper understanding of the world around them through engaging and challenging Geography lessons.

As a Geography Teacher, you will deliver engaging and inspiring lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 depending on your experience and the needs of the department. You will join a supportive Humanities faculty that encourages innovative teaching and collaborative planning to help students achieve their full potential. This is a permanent, full-time position commencing in September 2026. Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are encouraged to apply and will benefit from a comprehensive induction programme and ongoing mentoring.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and differentiated Geography lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Teach Key Stage 5 Geography where appropriate, depending on experience and departmental requirements.
  • Inspire students to develop curiosity about the physical and human world and a passion for geographical enquiry.
  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress, using assessment effectively to inform planning and raise attainment.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment where all students can succeed.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour, engagement, and achievement.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Humanities department to share best practice and develop the curriculum.
  • Contribute to enrichment opportunities, fieldwork, and the wider life of the school where appropriate.
  • Ensure safeguarding procedures and school policies are followed at all times.
Essential Criteria
  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), or expected to achieve QTS by September 2026 – essential.
  • The ability to teach Geography across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for Geography.
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • The ability to deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that inspire students to achieve their best.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Preferred Criteria
  • Experience teaching Key Stage 5 Geography.
  • Previous experience delivering successful outcomes across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Experience organising or supporting Geography fieldwork and enrichment activities.
  • A commitment to contributing to the wider school community through extracurricular activities.
  • A passion for continuous professional development and collaborative working.

This role would suit an experienced Geography Teacher looking for a new opportunity, as well as an ambitious ECT seeking a supportive environment in which to begin their teaching career.
