Location: Gosforth

Start Date: September 2026

Contract: Fixed Term (1st September 2026 – 17th July 2027)

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:45am – 3:45pm (32.5 hours per week)

Education World is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school to recruit a KS2 Teaching Assistant with SEN Support to join their team from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to support pupils across Key Stage 2, with a particular focus on working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). You will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to provide high‑quality classroom support, deliver targeted interventions, and help pupils overcome barriers to learning so they can achieve their full potential.

Qualifications

  • A minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (essential).
  • Experience supporting children within a primary school, ideally in Key Stage 2.
  • Experience working with pupils with SEND, either on a one‑to‑one basis or in small groups.
  • A patient, caring, and flexible approach to supporting children's learning and wellbeing.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
