Education World is seeking an experienced and dedicated SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Southend-on-Sea. This is a part-time opportunity (3 days per week) ideal for an experienced SEN professional who is passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs and ensuring every child can achieve their full potential.

The successful candidate will play a key role in leading and developing the school’s SEND provision. You will work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure high-quality support for pupils with a range of special educational needs. You will also benefit from working alongside another SENCO, providing shared leadership and a strong support network within the school.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate the provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
  • Work closely with teaching staff to support inclusive classroom practice
  • Develop, implement, and review EHCPs and SEN support plans
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure effective support for pupils
  • Monitor and track the progress of pupils with SEND
  • Contribute to the school’s inclusive ethos and ensure compliance with SEND legislation and guidance
