This is a permanent, full‑time position commencing in

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and practical Design Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Teach Key Stage 5 classes where appropriate, depending on experience and subject specialism.
- Inspire students to develop creativity, innovation, technical knowledge, and practical skills.
- Deliver a broad and ambitious curriculum that encourages independent thinking and problem‑solving.
- Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress, using assessment effectively to inform planning and next steps.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment where all students can thrive.
- Maintain high standards of behaviour, engagement, and achievement.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop teaching resources and contribute to the continued success of the department.
- Participate fully in the wider life of the school, including enrichment activities where appropriate.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures and school policies are followed at all times.
Essential Criteria
UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), or expected to achieve QTS by September 2026 – essential.
- The ability to teach
Design Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for practical learning.
- Excellent classroom management and behaviour management skills.
- The ability to deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that inspire students.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Preferred Criteria
- Experience teaching
Key Stage 5 Design Technology .
- A specialism in
Product Design, Resistant Materials, Engineering, Graphics , or a related Design Technology discipline.
- Experience delivering project‑based and practical learning.
- A commitment to contributing to extracurricular activities and the wider school community.
- A passion for continuous professional development and collaborative working.
