We are seeking a passionate and innovative Design Technology Teacher to join a highly regarded secondary school in Greenwich from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated teacher to inspire creativity, practical problem‑solving, and technical skills within a supportive and forward‑thinking school environment. As a Design Technology Teacher, you will deliver engaging and practical lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 depending on your experience and subject specialism. The school welcomes applicants with experience in Product Design, Resistant Materials, Engineering, Graphics, or other Design Technology disciplines. This is a permanent, full‑time position commencing in September 2026. Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are encouraged to apply and will benefit from an excellent induction programme and ongoing professional support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and practical Design Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Teach Key Stage 5 classes where appropriate, depending on experience and subject specialism.
  • Inspire students to develop creativity, innovation, technical knowledge, and practical skills.
  • Deliver a broad and ambitious curriculum that encourages independent thinking and problem‑solving.
  • Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress, using assessment effectively to inform planning and next steps.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment where all students can thrive.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour, engagement, and achievement.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop teaching resources and contribute to the continued success of the department.
  • Participate fully in the wider life of the school, including enrichment activities where appropriate.
  • Ensure safeguarding procedures and school policies are followed at all times.
Essential Criteria
  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), or expected to achieve QTS by September 2026 – essential.
  • The ability to teach Design Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for practical learning.
  • Excellent classroom management and behaviour management skills.
  • The ability to deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that inspire students.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Preferred Criteria
  • Experience teaching Key Stage 5 Design Technology.
  • A specialism in Product Design, Resistant Materials, Engineering, Graphics, or a related Design Technology discipline.
  • Experience delivering project‑based and practical learning.
  • A commitment to contributing to extracurricular activities and the wider school community.
  • A passion for continuous professional development and collaborative working.
