Deputy Nursery Manager - North London

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join the Early Years provision of a highly regarded Children's, Young People & Community Centre. As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Nursery Manager and Early Years leadership team to support the day-to-day running of the provision, ensuring the highest standards of care, learning, safeguarding, and compliance are maintained. You will play a key role in leading practitioners, supporting children's development, and promoting excellence across the Early Years department. This is an ongoing position, offering an excellent opportunity to join a supportive team that is passionate about delivering outstanding early years education and care.

• Support the Nursery Manager with the day-to-day leadership and management of the Early Years provision.
• Lead and motivate practitioners to deliver high-quality care and education in line with the EYFS framework.
• Support the planning and delivery of engaging, play-based learning experiences that meet the needs of all children.
• Monitor children's development and ensure observations, assessments, and learning journeys are maintained to a high standard.
• Promote a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment where children can thrive.
• Support staff supervision, mentoring, coaching, and professional development.
• Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and welfare requirements are consistently met.
• Build strong relationships with children, parents, carers, and external professionals.
• Assist with staffing, room organisation, and the smooth day-to-day operation of the Early Years provision.
• Act as a role model for outstanding early years practice and assume leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Nursery Manager.

• A Level 3 Early Years qualification – essential.
• Previous experience as a Senior Early Years Practitioner, Room Lead, or similar leadership role within an Early Years setting – essential.
• A strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
• Experience supporting, mentoring, and leading Early Years practitioners.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
• A nurturing, proactive, and professional approach.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
• A genuine passion for Early Years education and child development.
• A commitment to delivering outstanding outcomes for children and families.

This role would suit an experienced Senior Early Years Practitioner or Room Lead who is ready to progress into a management role, or an existing Deputy Manager seeking a new challenge within a supportive and well-resourced Early Years environment.
