Education World is looking to appoint a communication support worker/BSL signer to join a team supporting deaf students across a variety of curriculum areas. Our partner school takes pride in being inclusive and this was recognised in their recent Ofsted inspection. The Inclusion team is led by an Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion who is also the SENDCo, with a Deputy SENDCo who leads on the Enhanced Resource Facility provision for deaf students.

This post requires a person who understands the needs of deaf students who may have other additional needs within a secondary school setting. The ability to establish good working relationships with the students and a large number of staff is essential. Previous experience of working with deaf and SEND students is desirable but not essential. Minimum of Level 3 BSL is essential.

The successful applicant will be well supported and have opportunities for continued professional development. The full-time position is full working 32.5 hours week for 39 weeks per year (term time); part-time hours can be considered (3 days minimum).
