We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Year 6 Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Walker. As a Year 6 Teacher, you will play a key role in preparing pupils for the transition to secondary school, delivering engaging lessons, and supporting pupils to achieve their full academic potential across the Key Stage 2 curriculum.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons as a Year 6 Teacher, in line with the national curriculum.
- Support pupils’ development across the Year 6 curriculum, including English, maths, and foundation subjects.
- Prepare pupils for end of Key Stage 2 expectations through structured and effective teaching.
- Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress, using data to inform planning and targeted interventions.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment that supports learning and achievement.
- Differentiating lessons to meet the needs of all learners, ensuring all pupils can access the curriculum.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
- Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and carers to support academic progress and wellbeing.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures and school policies are followed at all times.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching the Year 6 curriculum – essential.
- Strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum and SATs preparation.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- The ability to deliver engaging and differentiated lessons.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
