We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 5 Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Gateshead. As a Year 5 Teacher, you will play a key role in supporting pupils through an important stage of their primary education, preparing them academically and personally for the transition into upper Key Stage 2 and beyond.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver engaging and creative lessons in line with the Key Stage 2 curriculum.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment where all pupils can thrive.
- Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress, using assessment effectively to inform planning and next steps.
- Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all learners, including pupils with SEND and varying abilities.
- Promote high standards of behaviour, engagement, and achievement within the classroom.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, carers, and colleagues to support learning and wellbeing.
- Work collaboratively with the wider school team to contribute to school life and ongoing improvement.
- Support pupils’ personal, social, and emotional development alongside their academic progress.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures and school policies are followed at all times.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
- Experience teaching within Key Stage 2, ideally Year 5.
- Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum and effective classroom practice.
