We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 4 Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Gateshead. As a Year 4 Teacher, you will play a key role in supporting pupils through an important stage of their primary education, helping them build strong foundations across the curriculum while preparing them for the challenges of upper Key Stage 2.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging and creative lessons in line with the Key Stage 2 curriculum.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment where all pupils can thrive.
  • Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress, using assessment effectively to inform planning and next steps.
  • Differentiating learning to meet the needs of all learners, including pupils with SEND and varying abilities.
  • Promote high standards of behaviour, engagement, and achievement within the classroom.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, carers, and colleagues to support learning and wellbeing.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider school team to contribute to school life and ongoing improvement.
  • Support pupils’ personal, social, and emotional development alongside their academic progress.
  • Ensure safeguarding procedures and school policies are followed at all times.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
  • Experience teaching within Key Stage 2, ideally Year 4.
  • Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum and effective classroom practice.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills.
  • A nurturing, enthusiastic, and adaptable approach to teaching and learning.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • The ability to inspire and motivate pupils to achieve their full potential.
