Design Technology Teacher - Greenwich (Permanent, Part-Time) in London

We are seeking a passionate and innovative Design Technology Teacher to join a highly regarded secondary school in Greenwich from September 2026. As a Design Technology Teacher, you will deliver engaging and practical lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 depending on your experience and subject specialism. The school welcomes applicants with experience in Product Design, Resistant Materials, Engineering, Graphics, or other Design Technology disciplines.

This is a permanent, part-time position (2 days per week) commencing in September 2026. Applicants must be available to work Wednesdays and either Monday, Tuesday, or Friday. Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are encouraged to apply and will benefit from an excellent induction programme and ongoing professional support.

• Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and practical Design Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Teach Key Stage 5 classes where appropriate, depending on experience and subject specialism.
• Inspire students to develop creativity, innovation, technical knowledge, and practical skills.
• Deliver a broad and ambitious curriculum that encourages independent thinking and problem-solving.
• Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress, using assessment effectively to inform planning and next steps.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment where all students can thrive.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour, engagement, and achievement.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop teaching resources and contribute to the continued success of the department.
• Participate fully in the wider life of the school, including enrichment activities where appropriate.
• Ensure safeguarding procedures and school policies are followed at all times.

• UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), or expected to achieve QTS by September 2026 – essential.
• The ability to teach Design Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for practical learning.
• Excellent classroom management and behaviour management skills.
• The ability to deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that inspire students.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

• Experience teaching Key Stage 5 Design Technology.
• A specialism in Product Design, Resistant Materials, Engineering, Graphics, or a related Design Technology discipline.
• Experience delivering project-based and practical learning.
• A commitment to contributing to extracurricular activities and the wider school community.
• A passion for continuous professional development and collaborative working.
