We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school in North Tyneside. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to support pupils across the secondary age range, helping to create an inclusive, engaging, and structured learning environment where all students can thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support teaching and learning across a range of secondary subjects, working with individuals and small groups.
  • Assist classroom teachers in delivering engaging, accessible, and differentiated learning activities.
  • Provide targeted support to pupils with additional learning needs, including SEND where required.
  • Help maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Support pupils’ academic progress as well as their social, emotional, and behavioural development.

  • Adapt resources and approaches to meet the needs of individual learners.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff, SENCOs, and external agencies where appropriate.
  • Monitor and feedback on pupil progress and engagement.
  • Ensure safeguarding procedures and school policies are followed at all times.
