We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive Early Years team in Washington. As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and wider Early Years staff to support children’s learning and development through high-quality, play-based practice in a nurturing and engaging environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support teaching and learning as an EYFS Teaching Assistant, working with individuals and small groups of children.
  • Assist in delivering engaging, play-based activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Support children’s communication, language, social, emotional, and early numeracy development.
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment where children can thrive.
  • Observe, assess, and record children’s progress, contributing to planning and next steps.
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and Early Years team to support daily routines and learning activities.
  • Support children in developing independence, confidence, and positive behaviour.
  • Ensure safeguarding procedures and school policies are followed at all times.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • A minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification – essential.
  • Experience working within an Early Years setting (nursery or reception) – essential.
  • A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach to working with young children.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A good understanding of the EYFS framework and early childhood development.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
