This is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys working closely with operational leaders, providing insightful financial advice, and helping to deliver successful projects that make a real difference. Reporting to the Senior Finance Business Partner, you will provide high-quality financial support and business partnering across the organisation. You will work collaboratively with budget holders, project managers, senior leaders and finance colleagues to ensure robust financial planning, monitoring and reporting. A key part of the role will involve monitoring multi-million pound capital projects, ensuring that expenditure, income and cashflow are accurately tracked and reported throughout the project lifecycle. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing an efficient and professional financial support service to Heads of Department and Budget holders, in accordance with financial regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Monitoring all relevant income, expenditure and cashflow for capital and other projects, working collaboratively with the Project and Finance teams to support the claim process for financial grants/loans.
  • Preparation of reports on the status and progress of capital projects for Senior Management, Governors and the monthly management accounts.
  • Maintaining up-to-date cashflow forecasts and budgets.
  • Maintaining Fixed Asset Register including processing depreciation and grant transactions.
  • Assisting in the preparation of timely and accurate monthly management accounts and the annual statutory accounts.
  • Supporting digital development within financial processes and procedures. We are seeking an ambitious and proactive Finance Business Partner - Capital & Projects to play a key role in supporting the financial management of our capital investment programme and wider organisational projects., Good general education, with GCSE Grade 4 or equivalent in English and Maths.
  • AAT Level 4 qualification.
  • Experience in operating financial procedures and computerised accounting systems.
  • Experience of financial planning, budget setting, budget monitoring & control.
  • Experience of Fixed Assets, including depreciation and grants.
  • Ability to use IT systems and packages including Excel.
  • Experience in complying with financial regulations and policies.
  • Experience of developing and maintaining systems and procedures.
  • Experience of liaising with auditors.
  • Experience of working in a busy and demanding environment.
  • Ability to work to own initiative and make decisions when appropriate.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload to meet key deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to relate to all levels of staff and the ability to communicate financial information appropriately to a variety of people.
  • Co-operative approach and commitment to team working.
  • Creative thinker able to foresee issues and generate solutions.
  • Resilience, stamina and reliability under pressure.
