As Course Leader for Foundation Skills, you will lead the planning, coordination, delivery and continuous improvement of Foundation Skills programmes, ensuring outstanding teaching, learning and assessment practices that promote learner achievement, progression and employability. You will be responsible for curriculum planning and development, including the design of schemes of work, learning resources and assessment activities, while ensuring programmes remain responsive to learner needs, awarding body requirements and local skills priorities.

You will monitor and drive performance across designated courses, taking responsibility for attendance, retention, achievement, success rates, progression and positive learner destinations. The successful candidate will deliver high‑quality teaching across Foundation Skills provision and provide effective academic and pastoral support to learners through initial assessment, individual learning planning and regular progress reviews.

You will contribute to the recruitment, enrolment and induction of learners, support careers education and progression activities, and work collaboratively with employers, support services and external partners to enhance learner opportunities and experiences.
