An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lecturer in Games Development to join our Digital team reporting to our Curriculum Manager for Creative and Digital.
The digital department lead and develop programmes in Games Design and ICT and will be looking in the next year to develop V-Levels and T-Levels in these areas.
As a Lecturer in Games Development with Stockton Riverside College you will be responsible for:
- Delivering lessons and practical workshops in areas such as game design, programming, 3D modelling, animation, and game engine development.
- Planning and preparing learning materials, including schemes of work, lesson plans, presentations, and practical activities aligned with course specifications.
- Assessing student assignments and projects and providing timely, constructive feedback to support learner progress and achievement.
- Supporting and mentoring students by monitoring attendance, academic performance, and wellbeing while helping them achieve their individual goals.
- Maintaining industry-relevant knowledge and skills through engagement with current games development technologies, software, and professional practices.
- Developing links with employers and industry partners by arranging guest speakers, live briefs, work experience opportunities, and progression routes into higher education or employment.
The successful candidate will need:
- Strong expertise in games development.

- Assess student progress effectively.
- Maintain up-to-date industry knowledge while building productive relationships with employers and industry partners.

- A recognised teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
- Experience of delivering education or training.
- Strong industry knowledge of games development technologies and software.
