An exciting opportunity has arisen for an hourly paid hair & beauty lecturer, to join the vastly experienced team, reporting to our Curriculum Manager. The department requires further lecturing staff, for the ever-growing programmes within this area, and requires an individual who can teach a range of both hair and beauty courses to adults and young people, in order for them to upskill in their chosen trade within the industry. The successful candidate will need to create and deliver a range of innovative and engaging lessons for students, ensuring teaching and learning meets expected standards. You will be required to plan and deliver a suitable assessment programme ensuring marked work meets the colleges expectations along with tracking records for remaining up to date via both internal and awarding body systems, to show progressions whilst on programme. Administration tasks such as posting relevant classroom resources and materials to group Teams pages, entering information and data onto internal systems and communication with both students and parents/carers is a required element of the role.
The ideal candidate will be a confident, enthusiastic and inspiring lecturer, with knowledge of current trends within the hair and beauty industry and the desire to upskill, where needed. High levels of IT and knowledge of Microsoft packages, especially Teams would be beneficial. The ability to manage own time and workloads is required, along with being able to communicate to learners, parents/carers through a range of methods.
A Level 2 qualification within a hair or beauty related field is essential, along with at least 2 years industry experience and the desire to learn skills within other services needed. A teaching qualification would be advantageous, with full support linking to teaching and learning being given. Schedule
• This is an hourly paid position, where teaching hours will be allocated upon enrolment of learners
• Availability is required between Monday-Friday 8.30-5pm, with the possibility of some evening work for short courses to be delivered.
