An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Teacher of Sport and Fitness to join our Sport and Public Services Team team reporting to our Strategic Manager for Sport and Enrichment. Bede Sixth Form College is seeking an enthusiastic and industry-experienced Personal Training professional to join our highly successful Sport and Public Services team.

The successful candidate will deliver and assess the Active IQ Level 3 Technical Occupancy in Personal Training qualification using a blended learning approach, developing learners' expertise in anatomy and physiology, nutrition, behaviour change, client consultation and programme design. We are looking for an individual with substantial industry experience, a passion for developing future fitness professionals and the ability to inspire learners to achieve outstanding outcomes and progress into employment within the health and fitness industry.

As a Teacher of Sport and Fitness with Bede Sixth Form College you will be responsible for planning, delivering, assessing and quality assuring teaching and learning for learners undertaking the Active IQ Personal Training qualification. The successful candidate will ensure learners develop the knowledge, practical competence and professional behaviours required to work as self-employed or employed Personal Trainers within the health and fitness industry. The role will include classroom delivery, gym-based practical teaching, learner assessment and internal quality assurance activities.

The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and industry-experienced fitness professional with excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills. They will have the ability to plan and deliver engaging theoretical and practical learning experiences, assess learner performance effectively and inspire students to achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will possess strong IT skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment. They will be proactive, adaptable and committed to maintaining high professional standards within both education and the fitness industry.

Applicants should hold a recognised Level 3 Personal Training qualification and have current or recent experience working within the health and fitness sector. Previous teaching, training or assessing experience is desirable, although candidates with significant industry experience and a passion for developing future fitness professionals are encouraged to apply. A teaching qualification and assessor qualification would be advantageous; however, support may be available for the successful candidate to work towards relevant teaching and assessment qualifications where required.

Schedule

• Delivery will be 10am until 4pm on a Monday starting 2 nd November
• Additional hours for assessment, planning and monitoring e-learning will be flexible
