We are seeking an ICT support / field engineer to join our established and growing team on a term time only basis, covering a wide range of ICT duties as a specialist Education and SMB managed service provider.

The applicant should be a highly motivated individual who is looking to develop their skills within the field of I.T. This is a customer-facing role and therefore good communication skills and a professional attitude are essential.

The role involves providing support and consultancy by telephone, remote support and on-site on a day to day basis. The successful applicant will attend regular site visits at schools in Wisbech, Cambridge and Stowmarket and possibly further afield, which will require a full UK driving license and use of a car is essential.

As an IT Support / Field Engineer you will have a good understanding of the following:

  • Previous experience and/or qualifications in current Windows Server products and services (Active Directory/DNS/DHCP/Group Policy)
  • Strong administration and maintenance of Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft 365, Intune etc
  • Desktop and Server Hardware upgrade/installation and troubleshooting
  • A good knowledge of up to date Windows desktop operating systems and applications
  • Helpdesk system (managing, responding to support requests with SLAs)
  • Good networking experience (TCP/IP topologies, switches, routers)
  • Anti-Virus, Anti-Spam, Firewalling, UTM and security solutions
  • Onsite and Offsite backup and recovery services and procedures

Requirements:

  • 1+ years relevant experience
  • A full UK driving licence and vehicle
  • An Enhanced DBS (the cost of which will be met by the employer).
  • Good communication skills
  • A willingness and enthusiasm to learn

5 days a week term time only

Salary: £28,000 negotiable (is the full time equivalent salary)
