Education Staffbank is partnering with a leading independent higher education provider in London to recruit an experienced and passionate Lecturer in Computing Science. About the Role
You will design, develop, and deliver engaging teaching across a range of computing modules, supporting students on campus and contributing to assessment, quality assurance, and curriculum development. Modules may include:
- Advanced Programming in C#
- Data Structures and Algorithms in Java
- Databases using SQL
- Advanced Databases and Big Data using Python
- Web Design
- Programming using ASP .Net Core
- Cloud Computing
- Applied Machine Learning using Python
You will also collaborate with colleagues to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes and may lead modules while coordinating with associate lecturers.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver lectures, seminars, and tutorials in line with curriculum standards
- Develop and update teaching materials and maintain digital learning platforms
- Set, assess, and provide feedback on student assignments and exams
- Support students academically and pastorally, including those with learning support needs
- Engage with quality assurance processes and contribute to programme evaluations
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes
- Lead modules and coordinate with associate lecturers where applicable
Essential Criteria
- Master's degree in a relevant computing-related field
- Experience teaching in Higher Education with strong digital teaching capability
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of HE quality assurance and validation processes
- Student‑focused, flexible, and committed to continuous improvement
- Willingness to work towards HEA Fellowship if not already held
Desirable Criteria
- PhD (or near completion) or equivalent industry experience
- Engagement in research or enterprise activities
- Teaching qualification
- Experience leading modules or academic teams
