Pay Rate: £108.60 per day (dependent on experience and responsibilities)

Qualification: Desirable – Makaton and Level 3 but experience is also welcomed

Experience: Experience in working with children and young people with autism – 6 months minimum

Overview: Education Personnel are delighted to be working in partnership with a progressive and well-respected school for SEND pupils especially those with Autism in rural Belper to recruit a dedicated SEN TA for a temporary position, starting in January. There are multiple roles available including daily casual bank and also long term full time positions. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled SEN TA educator to contribute to a thriving department and support students from EYFS to 16+. The school is nestled in the heart of Amber Valley and prides itself on its inclusivity and diversity. The school has a wide range of sensory tools that will assist any TA achieve their very best with their pupils.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist pupils accessing their curriculum
  • Assist the teacher in assessing pupils progress and achievements
  • Monitor student progress and implement appropriate interventions
  • Contribute to department improvement
  • Attend staff meetings, CPD, and parents' evenings as required

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Ideally – A qualification in teaching assisting
  • Has at least 6 months of classroom experience or in a SEND environment
  • Is passionate about SEND education and student achievement
  • Has excellent behaviour management and communication skills
  • Demonstrates a collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to school life
