Overview: Education Personnel are delighted to be working in partnership with a progressive and well-respected school in Ilkeston to recruit a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant for a full-time position, April 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Teaching Assistant to contribute to a thriving department and support students across the school. The school is a well-regarded school in Belper, Derbyshire, known for its inclusive, student-centered ethos focused on helping students "Be who they are & become who they aspire to be".
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing individual and small group support: Assisting pupils with learning activities, providing one-to-one support, and implementing differentiated learning plans.
- Creating and maintaining a supportive learning environment: Contributing to a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, ensuring the safety and well-being of pupils.
- Communicating effectively: Maintaining regular communication with teachers, parents/carers, and other professionals regarding pupil progress and well-being.
- Supporting pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs: Implementing strategies to support pupils' social and emotional development and manage challenging behaviour.
- Assisting with practical tasks: Supporting pupils with personal care needs, preparing learning materials, and maintaining classroom resources.
- Contributing to the wider school community: Participating in school events and activities and contributing to the overall well-being of the school.
