Geography Teacher – Derby (QTS Required)
Location: Derby
Contract Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
Start Date: Immediate / January 2027
Pay Rate: £130–£230 per day (dependent on experience and responsibilities)
Qualification: QTS required
Experience: Minimum 6 months’ teaching experience in a UK secondary school
Overview:
Education Personnel are delighted to be working in partnership with a progressive and well-respected secondary school in Derby to recruit a dedicated Geography Teacher for a position starting immediately or in January 2027. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Geography educator to contribute to a thriving department and support students at KS3, KS4, and potentially Geography KS5. Derby secondary schools offer great opportunities for local fieldwork and physical/human geographical investigations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver the KS3 & KS4 Geography curriculum, with KS5 teaching available if experienced in Derby
- Plan, prepare, and assess Geography lessons in line with department policy
- Monitor student progress and organize required fieldwork modules
- Contribute to Geography department improvement planning
- Attend staff meetings, CPD, and parents’ evenings as required
The Ideal Candidate:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Has at least 6 months of classroom teaching Geography experience in a UK secondary setting
- Is passionate about Geography education and student achievement
- Has excellent behaviour management and communication skills
- Demonstrates a collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to school life
