We are proudly supporting one of our specialist partner schools in Derby in appointing a committed and inspiring SEND Teacher. What you’ll do:
- Plan and deliver structured, engaging lessons tailored to the needs of pupils with SEND, ensuring that each learner can access the curriculum in a meaningful way
- Work closely with support staff, therapists, and external specialists to deliver personalised support plans
- Foster pupils’ communication, independence, emotional regulation, life skills, and confidence
- Adapt learning activities and resources as needed — including sensory resources and differentiated materials — to meet varied needs
- Collaborate with colleagues and families to support each pupil’s development and well-being
- Contribute positively to the school community, supporting broader school life and the inclusive culture
What we’re looking for:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), or an equivalent qualification — SEND experience is highly desirable, though a strong commitment to developing specialist practice will also be considered
- Understanding of personalised and adaptive teaching approaches, with ability to differentiate and deliver structured lessons for a diverse learner profile
- Awareness or willingness to learn about supporting pupils with communication difficulties, sensory needs, behavioural/emotional needs, or learning differences
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with staff, families, and external agencies
- Empathy, patience, resilience, and a genuine dedication to supporting every child to reach their potential
- Willingness to contribute to a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive school community
